1. Question: Can you briefly present your life journey and how you became involved in work for the Roma community?

After finishing high school, I joined the first group of the Romano Kher project, which included a mixed group of Roma with at least a level IV education. The project involved workshops on how to enter the labor market, and I acquired various skills and knowledge related to employment. After three months of workshops, I applied for the position of project assistant in the Romano Kher project, which had just started at the time, and I was selected. This was my first job and also my first employment in the field of Roma issues.

2. Question: What inspired you to become an active advocate for Roma rights?

I became an active advocate for Roma rights primarily because of my personal belief that we Roma are capable of achieving more.

3. Question: What challenges have you faced along the way and how did they affect your work within the community?

When looking for a job, I often encountered closed doors, which further motivated me to persist and find the right opportunity—so I could contribute to the community.

4. Question: What projects or initiatives have you led to improve the position of the Roma community?

As part of the Romano Kher project, I prepared several projects focused on Roma education. I am currently employed as a Roma mentor in the project Social Activation for Roma Women.

5. Question: Can you share a story or experience that especially inspired or motivated you in your work?

I helped a single mother with two children who was experiencing domestic violence. I reached out to the relevant institutions, but didn’t receive adequate support, so I decided to help her myself, on my own responsibility. This experience further motivated me and gave me the confidence to help even in the most demanding situations.

6. Question: What changes or improvements have you noticed in the Roma community as a result of your work?

In the Social Activation for Roma Women program, several participants have found employment—some even permanent positions—which fills me with great pride.

7. Question: What advice would you give to young Roma who want to contribute to their community?

I advise them to be confident, believe in themselves, and pursue education, as education opens many doors.

8. Question: What are your future plans and how do you intend to continue supporting the Roma community?

I want to continue my work and mission, and I will keep doing my best to support the Roma community and individuals within it in the future.
